The GDP estimates are a notch higher than the recent government forecast of 3.4 percent for growth this year.
Presenting the report at Poland’s Central Bank, the IMF’s Aqib Aslam said that forecasts for the global economy are brighter, chiefly due to a drop in oil prices.
The IMF forecasts global GDP at 3.5 percent growth in 2015 and 3.8 percent next year.
The EU’s GDP is to grow by 1.5 percent this year and 1.6 percent in 2016, while the USA’s GDP is to grow by 3.1 percent in 2015 and 2016. (jb)

Correction: We earlier stated that Poland’s GDP was forecast at 3 percent for 2015. This in fact was the IMF’s forecast at the beginning of the year, which has now been upped to 3.5 percent.
