Air Baltic to fly from Radom airport

Latvian budget carrier Air Baltic is to start flying from the central Polish city of Radom to Riga from September, the airport has announced.

“We are going to start flights from 1 September with a frequency of three flights weekly, and from mid-October [that will grow to] four flights a week,” said Tomasz Siwak, CEO of Radom Airport.
“Passengers will be able to make use of Riga’s network, some 94 destinations,” he added.
The flights are initially scheduled for Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, with an extra day being added from October.
Meanwhile, Radom Airport is in talks with other carriers about opening up routes from the airport.
Radom Airport, which used to be a military facility, opened in May 2014. It is yet to host regular scheduled services.
Meanwhile, Air Baltic carried almost 3 million passengers in 2013, according to the airline, and offers passengers over 50 connections from its hub in Riga. The airline also has a number of codeshare agreements with larger airlines in Europe. (jb)
