A letter of intent was signed on Wednesday and it is hoped that production will begin in the first quarter of 2016.

It has been estimated that the joint venture will turn out 500 wagons per year, and PKP Cargo is investing PLN 11.5 million in getting the production line operational.

About 150 people will be employed at PKP Cargo's depot in Szczecin, where production will take place.

PKP Cargo is currently Poland's largest freight-carrier and the second biggest in the European Union. (nh)
