A third of Polish tourists go uninsured

At a cost of around PLN 40 (EUR 10) per head, only two-thirds of Polish tourists buy insurance before their holiday.

“This level has remained unchanged for some years, and unfortunately does not rise,” Tomasz Frączek president of the board at Mondial Assistanc, said.
He added that given the fact that the average length of holidays is about 12-13 days, “PLN 40 per person is not a lot”.
Those who do not take out an insurance, Frączek added, say that they cannot afford it. “In the situation that the average tour costs PLN 2600 (EUR 615), an additional PLN 40 per person […], is probably not the real reason.” (rg)
