Last year the Fiat plant in Poland released almost 200,000 Fiat 500 and the more powerful Abarth 500 models.

The new car model will produced alongside the older Fiat 500 – which has been assembled at the plant in southern Poland since 2007.

Representatives of the Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) Poland admit that due to the scale of production, the success of the new model of the Fiat 500 will have a large impact on the condition of the Tychy plant, which employs nearly 3,300 people.

The latest version of the 500 model – first introduced in 1957 – was unveiled on Tuesday in Turin, Italy.

For now, the car will be available on the Italian and German markets, where sales of this model is highest. The car will be available in Poland in September. (rg)
