"The basis of Polish energy must be coal,” Szydło, who is the party’s nominee for Prime Minister, said on Monday.
Szydło made the announcement following a meeting with unions in Katowice where the Solidarity trade union and the party agreed to a “permanent cooperation”.
The first working meeting which will be "the beginning of the preparation of a common strategy for the development of the Polish mining industry", will be held next week, Szydło said.
Meanwhile, the Polish Investment Fund Enterprises (FIPP) has already received offers of investors interested in direct and indirect involvement in the Nowa Kompania Węglowa (NKW), said Deputy Treasury Minister Wojciech Kowalczyk. (rg)
