Cereal harvest falls off

The rapeseed harvest is estimated at 2.6 million tonnes, approx. 21 percent less than last year, the central statistical office GUS estimated.

The grain harvest in 2014 was 28.4 million tonnes, approx. 1 percent lower than in 2013, but 6 percent higher than the average for 2006-2010.

This year's cereal harvest with corn mixture GUS estimates at less than last year by 1.4 million tonnes (5.1 percent.) to 0.8 million tonnes (2.8 percent). (jh)
