The “National Receipt Lottery” will kick off on 1 October.

“We chose this name to emphasise that the lottery helps our common cause, that it applies to all Poles, because we all benefit from VAT tax being honestly paid into the state budget. Besides, it is national, because participation is open to all Poles over 18 years of age, and does not require the purchase of a ticket - just a receipt for at least PLN 10 is needed to take part in the lottery to win a car,” said Deputy Finance Minister Izabela Leszczyna.

The lottery is an incentive for Poles to ask for a receipt for goods and services purchased.

The Ministry wants to raise awareness of how big a role receipts play in the proper running of the economy. Receipts testify to the fact a sale has been made and tax will eventually be paid.

Among the other prizes in the lottery are laptops and tablets. (rg/rk)
