The enterprises, all listed on Warsaw Stock Exchange, have recorded slight profit, growing by 9.2 percent on average since last year, alongside a boost in sales and employment. The figures from the first half of 2015 confirm this trend, co-author of the report Maciej Krasoń says.

An uptick in business has been felt by the entire branch, noting a declining number of insolvencies, falling from 98 to 66 year on year.

At the same time, civil engineering output has gone up by one percent y/y, the report finds.

As the experts expect, an inflow of EU funds from the 2014-2020 budget for infrastructure will help shore up the segment in the coming years and offer prospects of stable growth. Poland is to receive EUR 82.5 billion, out of which EUR 25.8 billion will be allocated to expanding the country’s road and rail networks.

Deloitte also points to an upturn in housing construction, as evidenced by an increasing number of building and occupancy permits issued in recent months. (aba/rk)
