The Polish Association of Chocolate Producers and Confectioners (Polbisco) has estimated that sales for 2015 will surpass EUR 1 billion.

During the first half of 2015, exports of Polish chocolate and cocoa-based products rose by 10 percent, reaching over EUR 532.4 million.

Sales of other confectionery, including white chocolate, which is classed as a chocolate derivative, went up by 12 percent to almost EUR 139.

While the UK and Germany are the biggest importers of Polish confectionery (both countries have large Polish minorities), China shot into third place in the first half of 2015. Last year, China was only the 37th largest importer of Polish confectionery. (nh/rk)
