GUS: retail sales sped up in November

Retail sales in Poland experienced a faster pace of year-on-year growth in November than in October, the country’s Central Statistical Office (GUS) reported.

Sales grew by 3.3 percent last month, compared with a 0.8 percent increase in October, GUS said.

At constant prices, sales rose by 5.7 percent.

“In November this year, we saw an increase in retail sales at constant prices of an annual rate of 5.7 percent (against a growth of 3.6 percent in the previous month and by 1.4 percent in November last year).

“Compared to October this year, retail sales declined by 5.9 percent (compared to a decline [in 2014] by 7.9 percent),” GUS wrote in a statement. (rg)
