Poland’s private sector employment up

Employment in Poland’s private sector grew 1.4 percent in December compared to the same month a year earlier, Poland’s Central Statistics Office (GUS) said on Wednesday.

Private sector employment stood at 5.625 million. The average monthly salary climbed 3.1 percent year on year to PLN 4,515.
Economists had expected employment to increase 1.2 percent, the same rate as in November.
Experts cited by the PAP news agency commented that 2016 was shaping up to be a good year for employees. (pk)
