Permits for Polish drivers carrying freight in Russia ran out on Sunday. The extension until mid-February was proposed by Poland, the PAP news agency reported.

A Polish-Russian committee on international road transport was scheduled to meet last Thursday in Poland’s Baltic port of Gdańsk to negotiate a new agreement. But the Russian delegation did not arrive at the meeting, PAP reported.

The authorities in Warsaw have accused Moscow of trying to eliminate Polish competition from the Russian market. (pk)
