Mars Polska has attempted to reassure Poles that not all products need to be avoided, claiming that the vast majority of products that reach Polish consumers come from a factory in Poland that is not affected by the withdrawal from the market.”

Nevertheless, a full list of the prohibited sweets on the Polish market has been published, as confirmed by Poland's Chief Sanitary Inspectorate (GIS).

They include some varieties of Mars, Milky Way and Snickers bars, including the mini-size versions known via the Celebrations assortment.

The recall policy was set in motion after a piece of red plastic was discovered in a Snickers bar that had been bought in Germany.

Besides Poland and Germany, countries affected by the recall include Australia, Austria, Belgium, Croatia, the Czech Republic Denmark, Finland, France, Greece, Italy, Norway, Portugal, Sweden Turkey, Ukraine and the UK. (nh/pk)
