Warsaw is planning business missions to Kazakhstan, Algeria and Senegal in the near future as Polish entrepreneurs search for new markets, Deputy Development Minister Radosław Domagalski has said.

Domagalski said Kazakhstan has much potential for Polish companies. "This market is opening up when it comes to privatization. Plans for special economic zones similar to Poland’s are being drawn up."

He added that Cuba, Mexico and China were among other markets with potential for Polish firms.

The Ministry of Development is working on setting up an export promotion agency.

Poland stepped up efforts to find new markets, including India and North Africa, after Russia slapped an embargo on the import of Polish fruit and vegetables in August 2014, as part of a wave of sanctions and counter-sanctions sparked by the Ukrainian crisis. (pk)
