Bilateral trade between the two countries amounted to a record EUR 88.5 billion last year.

In 2015 Poland was Germany’s 7th largest trade partner. In 2014 and 2013 it was the 8th and 11th largest partner respectively.

“The 11.2 percent increase in Polish exports to Germany – an increase of EUR 5 billion, is equal to the whole of [Poland’s] exports to the United States. This is an excellent result,” the embassy’s head of trade, Jacek Robak, said.

There are some 40,000 Polish companies exporting around 6,000 types of goods to Germany, including cars and car parts (13 percent), machinery, furniture and metal products. (rg/pk)
