In a statement, GUS said that in the fourth quarter, GDP growth is estimated to have risen by 4.3 percent. According to an earlier estimate, the figure stood at 3.9 percent.

The new results take into account “more complete information about the results for the whole 2015 in terms of corporate finance, foreign trade in goods and services”, GUS said in a statement.

“As a result some changes have occurred in levels and real growth rates of GDP and its components seasonally unadjusted (constant average prices of the previous year). The biggest change in real growth rates of GDP, compared to the data published on 29 February 2016, has been recorded in the fourth quarter of 2015 (growth of 4.3 percent compared to 3.9 percent previously published),” GUS said.

Taking into account the latest estimates, Polish GDP over the whole year grew 3.6 percent.

This figure is in line with estimates by the Eurostat statistics office of the European Union. It was well above the 1.9 percent growth in the whole of the European Union and the 1.6 percent growth in the Eurozone. (rg/pk)
