Poland sees EU’s third largest drop in construction production

Construction production in Poland dropped by 10.1 percent y/y in February, placing the country among the biggest decliners in the EU, according to Eurostat.

The year-on-year production in construction increased in February in both the whole of the European Union (2.3 percent) and the Eurozone (2.5 percent).

“Among Member States for which data are available, the highest increases in production in construction were recorded in Slovakia (+18.8 percent), Spain (+13.0 percent) and Sweden (+11.3 percent),” Eurostat, the European Union’s statistics office, said in a report on Thursday.

The largest decreases were seen in Slovenia (-30.8 percent), Hungary (-19.3 percent) and Poland (-10.1 percent). (rg)
