Next year, the European Commission expects Polish GDP growth to slow slightly to 3.6 percent.

Meanwhile, EU analysts expect Poland’s general government deficit to be 2.6 percent of GDP this year, the same as in 2015, but forecast that next year it will exceed the 3 percent of GDP allowed under EU regulations by 0.1 percentage point.

Among EU countries, only Ireland, Romania and Malta are expected to have higher GDP growth than Poland this year. (pk)
