The hacker, who went by the username “Pocket”, had been on the wanted list for over six months, after he and an associate allegedly stole more than EUR 100,000 from different accounts in a Polish bank.

Police say that “Pocket” in cooperation with another hacker, “Polsilver” -- who was caught in October last year, gained access to the online system of the bank and redirected money to their accounts.

They had access to PLN 3.5 million (almost EUR 800,000), but did not manage to steal all of the money, as the hackers were halted by the police.

“Pocket” was aware he was wanted and was able to hide for over six months. He was finally arrested on Wednesday in Opole, south-western Poland. (tf/rg)
