Unemployment in Poland falls

Unemployment in Poland fell to 9.6 percent in April, down from 10 percent in March, the Family, Work and Social Policy Ministry said on Thursday.

The result was the best April figure since 1992.

Poland had slightly over 1.5 million people registered as unemployed at the end of April, about 80,000 less than the month before.

Experts say that among factors contributing to the drop are seasonal jobs as well as general economic growth. (pk)
