The uptick is less than five percent annually, according to a report released by the Women Leadership in Business Foundation on Wednesday. The foundation presented the findings of the study at the European Financial Congress in the Polish coastal city of Sopot.

Iwona Kozera, a member of the organisation, indicated that the share of women in top executive positions at listed companies went up from 15 to 16 percent in 2015 compared to the previous year.

“There are publicly traded companies, where female staff accounts for 60-65 percent of the entire personnel, but there is not one woman on the management board,” Kozera told the attendees of the congress.

In 2015, over 900 companies were listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange. Out of 6,854 people running the enterprises only 870 were women. (aba)
