Poland and countries in Eastern Europe could be hit if British imports fall sharply following a potential recession sparked by the UK’s referendum decision to leave the EU, Britain’s Financial Times has reported.

In Poland, Latvia and Lithuania, exports to Britain accounted for between 2% and 3% of GDP last year, the FT reported, citing calculations by Capital Economics.

Poland is regarded as exposed to a slowdown in demand in both the UK and the euro zone, with 7.1% of its exports ending up in Britain, the paper said. (pk)
