There will be initially four such flights a week, and five at a later date, in addition to LOT’s daily flights to New York’s JFK Airport.

Meanwhile, the Business Traveller website reported that LOT will launch a non-stop service four times a week between Warsaw and Los Angeles on April 4.

The services will be operated by a three-class jet configured for business, premium economy and economy, Business Traveller said, adding that the new connection has not yet been officially announced.

The eturbonews website reported that the flights will be operated by a Boeing 787 Dreamliner and will provide the first direct connection between California and Central and Eastern Europe.

Under a new strategy by LOT, Poland's national carrier, 23 new routes have been introduced since the beginning of the year. Direct Warsaw-Seoul flights are to be launched on 17 October. (mk/pk)
