“Prime Minister Beata Szydło has decided that the new head of the KNF […] will be economist Marek Chrzanowski,” said government spokesman Rafał Bochenek.
Chrzanowski is a former member of the Monetary Policy Council (RPP), and member of the President's National Development Council.
Chrzanowski served on the rate-setting RPP as a Senate appointee representing the governing Law and Justice (PiS) party.
The current chairman of KNF, Andrzej Jakubiak, holds the position until 12 October, when his five-year term expires. (rg/pk)
