“Polish families should expect to spend an average of PLN 1,121 [EUR 253] on gifts, food and meeting friends and family, five percent more than last year,” the report said.

“The most common gifts this year are cosmetics and perfumes [...]. As much as 37 percent of the money allocated for gifts will be spent online, but food will still be purchased primarily at discount stores,” Deloitte wrote.

The study shows that this year Poles will earmark around 44 percent of their Xmas budget (PLN 489, EUR 110) on gifts and 46 percent on food (PLN 512, EUR 115). (rg)
