Innovation is the key to economic growth, Polish President Andrzej Duda said in Stockholm on Wednesday, opening a Polish-Swedish seminar on innovation and start-ups.
The seminar took place on the second day of Duda’s three-day official visit to Sweden. He is being accompanied by Polish entrepreneurs.
"Innovation is the key to economic growth, the basis of long-term economic prosperity,” Duda said.
He added he hoped Poland and Sweden would cooperate in "promising sectors," with benefits for both sides.
Duda said that Poland is creating a new system to foster innovation. He noted that a new Innovation Council has been set up to coordinate the work of government ministries in terms of innovation.
Duda last week signed into law a bill designed to encourage innovation.
