Over 1 in 10 Poles cannot afford to dine out with friends

As many as 12.8 percent of Poles say they cannot afford to go out for a drink or meal with family and friends at least once a month, according to a new report.

Eurostat, the EU statistics agency, says that the figure is slightly lower than the 13 percent average for the European Union.
Around a third of the population in Hungary (36.5 percent), Romania (35.7 percent) and Bulgaria (30.0 percent) said they could not afford to dine out, according to a Eurostat report released on Thursday.

“At the opposite end the scale, the share was below one percent in […] Sweden. Less than five percent of the population feel unable to get together with friends/family for a drink/meal at least once a month also in Finland (1.5 percent), Denmark (3.2 percent), the Netherlands (3.3 percent), the Czech Republic (3.4 percent) and Luxembourg (4.1 percent),” Eurostat said.
The data was compiled in 2014.
