Morawiecki, who is also Poland’s Development and Finance Minister, said the Davos meeting had highlighted a link that until now had not been obvious to many participants.

"For there to be peace... there must also be justice; meanwhile, up to now, concern about the highest possible economic growth was placed first.”

After attending the forum in Switzerland, Morawiecki added that the focus on GDP growth was criticized in many debates in Davos.

He added: "Today I am sure -- while a year ago and two years ago I was not sure (...), that we are calling a spade a spade, that we are showing the weak points of economic imbalances, that we are pointing to social inequality as an absolutely fundamental causative factor in the economy too."

The World Economic Forum in Davos, which ends on Friday, brings together the chief executives of major companies, political leaders and scientists.
