European Commission to propose eurozone budget: report

The European Commission is in May expected to propose a separate budget for the 19 countries which share the euro as their currency, EC Vice President Valdis Dombrovskis told Reuters.
The budget, which is expected to boost investment and tackle unemployment, could be a threat countries outside the eurozone, including Poland, as it could split the EU, Poland's IAR news agency said.
Speaking on Friday, Dombrovskis said details including the size and financing of the budget had not yet been determined.
This is not the first time suggestions of a separate eurozone budget have been put forward, but each time the plans were protested by non-euro countries including Poland, which feared decreased financial support from the EU and further eurozone integration, IAR added.
