Polish apples to be made into energy drinks

Polish fruit producers will make an energy drink using apples, the Puls Biznesu daily reported, as the country seeks new solutions to overproduction of the fruit which resulted from a Russian embargo on some Polish imports.

The Yabu brand apple juice, containing guarana and caffeine, will cost PLN 5 a can, about twice as much as other energy drinks already on the market.
But Michał Lachowicz, a member of the La-Sad group of fruit producers, told the daily that the new product could attract people who avoid traditional energy drinks because of health concerns. (vb)
