Poles third in European job satisfaction ranking

Seventy-seven percent of Poles are satisfied with their jobs, the third-highest proportion in Europe behind Denmark and Austria, a recent international survey has found.

Polish employees are fourth-most concerned over job security, with one in three Poles worried they could lose their jobs, according to the survey by the Randstad Reseach Institute. More worried are only workers from Greece, Italy and Spain.

But about 80 percent of respondents to the international quarterly survey said think thought they could find a similar job within six months.

Meanwhile, Polish unemployment is under eight percent, the lowest in more than 25 years.

The poll showed that 27 percent of Poles changed jobs in the last six months, mainly citing better work conditions, a desire for change, restructuring of their company, and personal ambitions, twelve percent of respondents were actively looking for work. (vb)
