The government has made a decision to build Poland’s first nuclear power plant, the Dziennik Gazeta Prawna daily has reported.

Citing "unofficial" sources, the paper said the decision was taken in the last several days, but added that financing for the project was still an open question.

Dziennik Gazeta Prawna said Poland’s development ministry believes that the best option would be to buy nuclear technology from France.

But the energy ministry has pointed to the benefits of using Chinese and South Korean technology, the paper reported.

Two locations in northern Poland -- Lubiatowo-Kopalino and Żarnowiec -- could host the nuclear power plant, according to Dziennik Gazeta Prawna.
