The agency said in a report dated 12 September that Poland’s economic growth remained robust despite challenges in the institutional environment.

At the same time, Moody's revised downward its forecast for Poland’s 2018 general government deficit to 2.7 percent of GDP from 2.9 percent projected in May.

In early September, Moody’s strongly upgraded Poland’s 2017 GDP forecast to 4.3 percent from an earlier projection of 3.2 percent.

The agency said in a report published at the time that Poland’s faster-than-expected economic growth and fiscal condition were “credit positive.”

The Polish economy grew 3.9 percent in the second quarter of this year, according to the country’s Central Statistical Office (GUS). (gs)
