Krzysztof Jurgiel added that Polish food exports last year totalled EUR 24 billion.

Polish food products are exported to 74 countries around the world.

Jurgiel said that Warsaw's main trading partners are European Union countries, absorbing 81.5 percent of Polish exports in terms of value.

Other trade partners include Japan, Australia, Nigeria, South Africa, Mozambique, Senegal and Chile.

"The main export items are primarily poultry, beef, pork, and also wheat, smoked fish, cheese and cottage cheese, and frozen fruits and fruit juices," Jurgiel added.

Finance Minister Mateusz Morawiecki told parliament earlier this month that Poland could see its exports as a whole this year topping EUR 200 billion for the first time.
