Mateusz Morawiecki told public broadcaster Polish Radio 1 that the Polish economy was growing fast largely due to the right mix of government policies, in addition to other contributing factors.

The government’s “strategy for responsible development,” measures fostering sustainable development and efforts to create new jobs have all combined to benefit economic growth, according to Morawiecki, who is also Poland’s development minister as well as deputy prime minister.

The Polish economy grew 4.7% in the third quarter, the country’s Central Statistical Office (GUS) said in a flash estimate on Tuesday.

Thousands of new jobs in Polish industry

Morawiecki also told Polish Radio 1 that Poland was leading the way in Europe in terms of the number of jobs created in industry.

Some 225,000 new jobs have been created in Polish industry by both domestic and foreign-owned companies since the beginning of the year, according to Morawiecki.

Morawiecki and other Polish Cabinet ministers were on Wednesday summing up the first two years of the country’s conservative government led by the Law and Justice (PiS) party.
