The GDDKiA, which looks after nearly 19,000 kilometres of state roads, said ploughs were working 24 hours a day, seven days a week, across the country.

Some 2,400 ploughs and 1,400 salt trucks would be deployed this season, GDDKiA said, adding that it had 286 salt stores with a total capacity of 430,000 tonnes. (vb/pk)
