Polish luxury goods market growing: study

The market for luxury goods in Poland is on track to grow 15 percent this year compared with 2016, a study has found.

There are 1.1 million affluent and wealthy individuals in Poland, and they are expected to spend more than PLN 21 billion (around EUR 5 billion, USD 5.9 billion) on luxury goods this year, according to the study by professional services company KPMG.

It defined affluent and wealthy individuals as those whose gross monthly income exceeds PLN 7,100 (some EUR 1,700, USD 1,990).

Around 57,000 Poles have assets worth more than USD 1 million, according to KPMG. This includes 203 individuals with assets exceeding USD 100 million in value, KPMG said.

By 2021, Poland’s luxury goods market is likely to expand to be worth PLN 31 billion, according to KPMG.
