Poles spending proportionately more on clothes, shoes: Eurostat

The proportion of Polish household budgets being spent on clothes and shoes grew by 0.6 percentage points to 5.2 percent between 2006 and 2016, Eurostat has said, adding that it was the biggest increase among all European Union states.

The European statistical office also said that the average household in the European Union sets aside 4.9 percent of its budget for clothes and shoes.

Estonians set aside the biggest chunk of their family budgets for spending on clothing and shoes while Bulgarians the least, Eurostat said. (vb/pk)
