He was speaking at a conference in Toruń, north-central Poland, entitled "Digital independence: Polish technological thought, from idea to success".

Morawiecki said that the current "small economic miracle" in Poland was possible because the government has clamped down on tax evasion.

The Polish economy grew 5.1 percent in the final quarter of 2017, the country’s Central Statistical Office (GUS) said on Wednesday.

GDP growth for the whole of 2017 was 4.6 percent, the office noted.

Meanwhile, joblessness in Poland fell to 6.5 percent in November, the lowest in the last 25 years, inching up to 6.9 percent in January from 6.6 percent in December, according to the statistical office.
