Polish state companies band together to boost electro-mobility

A number of Poland's state-owned companies signed an e-mobility deal on Friday which will make the country a European leader in the field, according to Energy Minister Krzysztof Tchórzewski.

The deal, signed by refiner Lotos, Polish Post, broadcaster TVP, energy company Enea Serwis and railway industry IT service provider Kolejowe Zakłady Łączności, aims to foster cooperation and develop electro-mobility in Poland.
The deal comes amid government efforts to modernise the country and reduce carbon emissions, Tchorzewski said.
The companies partnered under the deal are expected to support each other in purchasing e-cars for their fleets and introducing infrastructure to support them.
TVP CEO Jacek Kurski said the broadcaster planned to invest in 20 e-cars by the end of the year and 100 more in 2019.
Deputy Investment Minister Andżelika Możdżanowska said that the signing of the deal heralded an "environmentally-friendly trend [in Poland], a mature and responsible approach to the environment, which will be a major factor in increasing Poland's global competitiveness." (vb)
