Poland’s unemployment rate seventh-lowest in EU: Eurostat

Unemployment in Poland stood at 4.4 percent in March, the seventh-lowest rate among the 28 EU member states, the EU’s statistics office Eurostat has said.

The jobless rate remained unchanged from February, while falling 0.7 percentage points year on year.
There were 754,000 unemployed in Poland in March, according to Eurostat.
The EU average for March remained unchanged from the previous month at 7.1 percent.
The Czech Republic had the lowest jobless rate in the bloc, at 2.2 percent, followed by Malta, with 3.3 percent, and Germany, with 3.4 percent.
Meanwhile, Greece had the highest jobless rate in the EU, at 20.6 percent, followed by Spain, with 16.1 percent. Unemployment in Italy was also in the double digits, at 11 percent, according to Eurostat.
