Passenger numbers soar at Warsaw airport

Warsaw's Chopin international airport has so far this year serviced some five million passengers, a nearly 15 percent increase compared to the first four months of 2017.

Eighty percent of those passengers were on international flights, the airport said in a statement on Wednesday.

“Compared to last year, we can see a 20 percent increase in international flights,” the statement read.

The state-run Warsaw Chopin Airport is Poland's largest airport. It serviced nearly 18 million passengers last year, a 23 percent increase on 2016. (vb)
