Clubs in Poland’s top Ekstraklasa football league raked in PLN 550.4 million (USD 149.6m, EUR 127.8m) last year, down 5 percent on 2016, according to a report by consulting firm Deloitte.

The fall in income reflects Polish teams’ failure to make an impact in international competitions.

The Polish capital’s Legia Warsaw was the highest earner last year, with revenue of some PLN 138 million, down from PLN 207 million in 2016.

The no. 2 spot went to Lech Poznań, which saw nearly PLN 66 million flowing into its coffers. Third place went to Lechia Gdańsk.

Legia Warsaw won the Polish premier league championship for the third time in a row after being awarded a 3-0 victory against Lech Poznań in a game on Sunday that was marred by crowd trouble.
