Dozens of new nationwide bus routes are set to link 250 Polish towns and cities, said Piotr Pogonowski, managing director of Polonus Partner, which coordinates regional bus companies.

The connections are to be serviced by a fleet of 130 buses.

The bus companies of five Polish regions recently joined forces, and more are expected to follow, as the country's infrastructure ministry pushes to integrate passenger transport.

The bus companies' team-up is expected to make bus travel faster, more convenient, and cheaper.

To mark Polonus Partner's launch, ten thousand bus tickets were sold at half-price. (vb)
