Polish inflation at 2 percent in June: stats office

Inflation in Poland rose to 2 percent year on year in June from 1.7 percent in May, the country’s Central Statistical Office (GUS) said on Friday.

The reading was a notch higher than the 1.9-percent flash estimate released by the office at the start of this month.
Inflation in the country stood at 1.6 percent year on year in April, while the March figure was 1.3 percent, according to the statistics office.
Inflation in February stood at 1.4 percent in year-on-year terms, while the January reading was 1.9 percent.
In December last year, the prices of consumer goods and services in Poland rose 2.1 percent compared with the same month a year earlier.
