More companies with foreign capital set up in Poland: report

A record 7,300 new companies could be established by foreigners in this country by the end of the year, the head of the General Economic Information Center (COIG), Jarosław Nowrotek, told Puls Biznesu.

Such a figure would outdo last year’s tally of 7,282 new enterprises with foreign capital.

Recent years have seen a steady rise in the number of companies with foreign capital, growing by around a thousand each year from 3,658 in 2013, the paper said.

The enterprises are chiefly being set up by foreigners from countries east of Poland --Ukrainians, Belarusians, Lithuanians and Latvians, but also by Vietnamese, Nowrotek said.

Companies established by foreigners account for 16 percent of new enterprises set up in Poland this year.
