Polish central bank commemorates independence anniversary

The National Bank of Poland has put into circulation a silver collector's coin to mark the centenary of the country’s regained independence.

The coin has a face value of PLN 10 (Polish zloty).
The reverse features the inscription My Polacy dumni i wolni’ (We Poles, proud and free); the dates "1918-2018;" images of two people symbolising the current generation of Poles, watching a multimedia show on touchscreens; and a 2D barcode, which serves as a link to the bank’s website: www.nbp.pl/MyPolacy.
The obverse of the coin has the image of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Warsaw; a stylised Polish flag; the eagle, which is Poland’s national emblem; and important dates in the nation’s history from 1918 to 2018.
Poland regained independence on November 11, 1918, the day World War I ended, after 123 years of partition by Russia, Austria and Prussia.
