The agency aims to promote Polish goods and services and help investors to enter the Polish market.

The new Sydney office, the agency's 50th, is also expected to help Polish businesses access Australia.

"Poles have been in Australia for years, but trade exchange is underwhelming," said Tomasz Pisula, head of the agency, who opened the office alongside Polish President Andrzej Duda during his historic official visit to the Sydney.

"Australia is a large, interesting, wealthy market, whereas [Poland] has tech solutions which we could sell," Pisula added.

Trade between Poland and Australia was worth some USD 300 million last year, according to Poland's statistical office.

Two more Polish Investment and Trade Offices are expected to be set up in the coming months. (vb)
