But he added that "turbulence abroad" could be a threat to the Polish economy. "This is not dependent on us, it can always occur," Morawiecki told public broadcaster Polish Radio.

He was speaking on the final day of the annual Krynica Economic Forum, which was being held in the southern Polish resort of Krynica-Zdrój.

The Polish economy grew 5.1 percent in the second quarter of this year and 5.2 percent in the first quarter, according to the country’s Central Statistical Office (GUS).

Poland's economy grew 4.9 percent in the final quarter of last year and expanded by 4.6 percent in 2017 as a whole.

Unemployment in Poland fell to a new low of 5.8 percent in August, from 5.9 percent in July, the country’s labour minister has said.

Senior politicians, parliamentarians, business executives and culture leaders were among the thousands of guests who have attended the annual Krynica Economic Forum, which is billed as the largest conference of its kind in Central and Eastern Europe and is sometimes referred to as the "Polish Davos.”
